Three Generations of Trusted Automotive Care
At Cox Auto Service, our legacy is built on trust, quality workmanship, and strong family values. Founded on March 13, 1970, by Edward and Dorothy Cox, we are proud to be a third-generation, family-owned auto repair shop serving Asheville and Western North Carolina.
From the beginning, Edward led repair operations while Dorothy managed the office, creating a teamwork-driven approach that still defines our shop today. Remaining in the same convenient location for more than 55 years, Cox Auto Service is honored to be the oldest continuously operating auto repair shop in the region.
When Edward and Dorothy retired in 2001, the business was passed to their daughter Tammy and son-in-law Ray Tenpenny. Shortly after, their son Aaron joined the team and now oversees daily operations, ensuring the same commitment to honest, expert service is delivered with every repair.
As a full-service mechanical auto repair shop, our ASE Certified technicians service all foreign and domestic vehicles, as well as most classic and muscle cars. From routine oil changes and preventative maintenance to advanced diagnostics and major mechanical repairs, our team is equipped to handle your automotive needs with skill and care.
